​REPRODUCTIVE, MATERNAL, NEW-BORN AND CHILD HEALTH NETWORK (OIC RMNCH NET)

VISION AND MISSION
Healthy population and improved reproductive, maternal, new-born and child health. Facilitate and encourage generation and sharing of knowledge, practices and experiences among the network members, and make them available to stakeholders.
 
OBJECTIVES

OIC Network on Population and Reproductive, Maternal, New-born and Child Health aims to achieve the following objectives:

  • Connect. Provide platform for experts to connect and to share information, case studies, and experiences.
  • Research. Review existing body of knowledge, develop research agenda, conduct research and enhance knowledge assets.
  • Share. Disseminate knowledge, facilitate dialogue and explore possibilities to address challenges.
  • Inform. Leverage existing knowledge for evidence-based policies, plans, strategies and programs to achieve the goals of the OIC SHPA and Health SDGs.
  • Collaborate. Enhance south-south and other forms of collaboration.

 

MEMBERS OF THE OIC-RMNCH NETWORK

The members of this network are individual experts and institutions selected according to the accumulated experience in the focus areas and the track record of publications and/or coordination of relevant research. Furthermore, demonstrated sensitivity to cultural diversity as well as the geographical and gender representation are taken into consideration.

The members of this network will have the responsibility to:

  1. Conduct research, gather information and establish a knowledge asset.
  2. Share knowledge, lessons learned and best practices.
  3. Develop technically sound and culturally sensitive concepts to implement best practices.
  4. Put in place new ways of overcoming challenges to the ICPD Programme of Action, OIC-SHPA and Health SDGs
  5. Conduct evidence-based advocacy

 

EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

The OIC Network on Population and Reproductive, Maternal, New-born and Child Health will be steered by an Executive Committee that comprises OIC General Secretariat, UNFPA, SESRIC, IDB, WHO, UNICEF, other concerned institutes if deemed necessary, as well as representatives of the members of the Network on rotational basis who can provide strategic advice and direction to the CoP, guide the development of the network plans and approve operational programmes.

 
SECRETARIAT

OIC Network on Population and Reproductive, Maternal, New-born and Child Health will be hosted by SESRIC, which will provide the secretariat support for the Network, such as maintaining the mailing list of members, facilitating interaction among members, and hosting knowledge assets.
